One flowering plant that has been missing from the garden for four or five years is Blue flax. Last week I came across one at a local garden center and could not resist bringing it home.The cultivar is “Sapphire,” and it has a lovely and delicate presence. Its pale blue flowers are right at home near a Baptisia ‘Purple Smoke’ along the southern side path.
