They are so beautiful, aren’t they? I believe I’ve seen more tiger swallowtails than other species of butterflies this summer. Very few monarchs, although I’m starting to see more now.
Yes they are beautiful. I used to see them so often I wouldn’t bother to photograph the Eastern Tiger Swallowtails, but now every one feels precious. Hope your monarch numbers pick up. I saw one this past week, I think only the second this year.
Beautiful thing!
The butterfly looked very fresh!
Wonderful photos!
Thanks Cathy!
Beautiful…how do you get so close to photograph?
Thanks. The swallowtail led me around to a few stops before it settled down and ignored me.
Beautiful photo but what ate all the petals on that flower?!
We have to travel right across to the east coast almost to stand a chance of spotting our UK Swallowtails. We have only ever seen them twice!
Seeing your UK Swallowtails must have been a great treat, Malc. I’m not seeing as many here in the past few years. Each one seems special.
