That’s a beautiful variety of blooms, Susie. Your burgundy-colored daylly reminds me of my ‘Spanish Harlem’ variety, a favorite which is just finishing its spring run.
Thanks Kris. We bought these daylilies from a daylily breeder and at the time it didn’t occur to me to ask about names. This has been a good year for daylilies.
A happy sigh, with such flowers to admire.
Thanks hb, and I see you must be spending lots of time sighing in your garden. Nice time of year.
Such vibrant color! I esp. love the velvety hemerocallis.
Thanks Eliza. I’m longing for color and the garden is helping.
What a fantastic colour for a daylily .. a chocolate fantasy!
Great moniker for that daylily. I’ve had trouble describing it but chocolate fantasy captures it!
Such rich, beautiful blooms. I think early summer is one of the nicest times of the year in a garden.
Thanks Tina. I’m trying to improve my summer garden. Spring is much easier for me to plan. As you are experiencing, it’s way too hot for June.
Wonderful. 😃 The Liatris was a nice surprise atvthe end. Would be great in a vase…. 😉
Thanks Cathy! The rabbits have eaten the center out of almost all the liatris so I thought I’d better not wait for that one to bloom!
Your daylilies are so nice, and I’m usually not a daylily person!
Love seeing all the color, but I saw your vase of gardenias and can’t even imagine the fragrance. I’d have to move it out as well, but wow it must be something having them all in bloom.
I saw some inexpensive ones with plenty of buds and was tempted to splurge on what will likely be an annual. Hmmmm 🙂
The gardenias were spectacular this year, not just mine but everyone’s seemed happy. They’re all faded brown now by the unreasonable heat (97F today), but they’ve lasted pretty well–about 3 weeks. I’d say yes to an inexpensive one even as an annual.
