Wordless? Well, just a few whispers this rainy (yes actual rain is falling) Wednesday.
Welcoming September Equinox with a wistful sigh today Sep 22 3:21 pm EDT.
The garden’s nearly 20 year old Camellia sasanquas ‘Yuletide’ have produced fruits this year. I have a record of this pollinator achievement one other time in a photo taken also on this day in the year 2012.

Pretty. 😃 A reason to celebrate if it happens so seldom. Happy Equinox Susie!
Happy Equinox!
Now I need to go take a look at mine.
Hope you find some too!
I’ve only occasionally seen nascent fruit on my Camellias – you have an ample supply! Best wishes for the wonderful fall season, Susie. The rain is a good sign.
Happy Autumn Kris! Maybe there are fruit every year and I’m not observant, but I think not. Interesting to see anyway.
My Jean May is covered with fruit for the first time in over 20 years. There are usually only a few. ???
Oh really? Good to know. I’d wondered if I was just not noticing them before. Can’t explain it.
Cool, do critters eat the fruit?
I read squirrels do. The shrubs aren’t where I can see them easily but I hope the birds will help themselves too.
