This Ikebana-style design reminds me of flying or dancing.

While Heuchera leaves reach out and stretch away from the vase, an arching piece of spirea sports tiny stems playfully pointing upwards. I had intended to use the white flowers of spirea but removed them on a whim.
A young camellia bud leans forward and up; its fully open counterpart keeps the entire design gently grounded.

Muscari adds texture and balances the deep coral of the camellia.

Yes, grape hyacinth is something everyone seems to grow.

I see balance and maybe a hard won success? Well done. Those twisty branches must have been a challenge to get just right?!
I made a few selective cuts on the spirea branches (including cutting off the flowers which seemed very daring). The heuchera is one I pulled up accidentally last week and it sat in a little glass all week looking so perky so I decided it could form the basis of this week’s vase.
Radical! flower removal. The tracery is worth it.
Your arrangements often feel like pieces of art to me, Susie, but that’s particularly true in this case. It captures the impression of flight to a “T”.

I think you picked the perfect title for your arrangement Susie. It really does make me think of a dancer, gracefully turning and stretching. It’s beautifully balanced. And the Camellia is gorgeous!
