Lovely! Spring has certainly arrived with you and the perfume from the Daphne must be delightful!
Pauline, the Daphne is wonderfully fragrant. The neighbors walking by enjoy it too.
Oh, nice! Wish I could sniff the Daphne.
Wish I could send you a whiff. It may not travel that far.
I’m awed by your Daphnes. While I’m happy that the one I planted a couple years ago is still alive, it looks truly pitiful by comparison to yours.
These are many years old so give your some time Kris. I want to add a couple to my back garden but still haven’t ventured to a garden center.
I know one thing today – it’s definitely spring at your house. 🙂 Beautiful.
We’ve had a few gorgeous days this week Judy. Peaceful time spent in the garden and weeding didn’t even seem like a chore (yet).
Gorgeous!! my soil was always too heavy for Daphne in Atlanta…sigh.
Soil here is heavy clay but I’ve amended it a lot. Still, the success of these Daphnes has been a surprise.
They are fabulous, well done- drainage must work.
How pretty! I bet the Daphne smells wonderful. 🙂
Eliza, that Daphne does smell delicious.
Oh my gosh! Those daphne are amazing, I can only imagine the fragrance. The cerinthe are cool, I always wanted to try some. Everything looks wonderfully springish 🙂
I’m so excited about the cerinthe. I had seen it from UK bloggers for years and finally found a source for seeds.
Oh my goodness! Spring is really happening for you right now. Enjoy!
Spring is slow this year which has proven to be nice. It’s giving me a chance to pace cleanup and just enjoy each little flower.
How lovely Susie! Your Daphne is such a spectacular shrub. Is it scented? What a great sight from your porch. 😃
The fragrance of Daphne is hard to describe. It’s very strong but not sickly or overpowering. Sweet, spicy, a bit lemony? I planted these after a drought. We’d lost many of our front shrubs and Daphne doesn’t need much water (although it’s been inundated this winter). I’d read to plant it where you would walk by it and that turned out to be sound advice.
Sounds lovely. 😃
