Wordless Wednesday – Late May

Stachys byzantina (Lamb’s Ear) needs to be trimmed back and thinned out, but the bees convinced me to keep it awhile.

Currently lighting up the meditation circle Penstemon digitalis ‘Husker Red’ (Beardtongue) is a another favorite of the bees.

Thanks Beth. Yes it’s been a glorious spring, much cooler here than in recent memory, which has nicely prolonged the enjoyment. Hope all is well.

I love that penstemon, even though I can’t seem to grow it here. I’m glad the bees enjoy it too.

I”m surprised Husker Red wouldn’t like your garden, although it does seem to enjoy water. You have green thumbs for everything.

Thanks Jason. I bought 2 plants only, so didn’t choose it to be massed–it chose me. Fortunately I like the look and the energy of it filling up the meditation circle and the bees and hummingbirds enjoy it.
