Your hydrangeas look wonderful. I have tried so hard to grow some. I have two in big pots, for some reason they did not like being in the ground.
Thanks. I’ve killed off quite a few kinds of hydrangeas, yet love them so much and keep trying. This oakleaf hydrangea has been fairly successful. It’s a dwarf variety.
Your Hydrangea looks fabulous this year, Susie; I seem to remember is was a bit slow to get settled.
Thanks Christina. It’s from spring 2013 and last year finally got its footing. All the recent rain we’ve had has helped it this year too.
A fabulous hydrangea, isn’t it very early in bloom?
I like it too. Lil’Ruby oakleaf hydrangea has bloomed around this time every year. I checked back through some photos. Other types of hydrangeas are also opening now.
Your garden is shining, Susie! I’ve heard news reports referencing sustained rain in NC. I hope it hasn’t been too bad in your area. Much as I love to see rain here, even I’d be upset if the month of May saw little else.
We’ve escaped all the weird flooding and sinkholes, Kris. Every day it’s been sunny, rainy, stormy, sunny and sometimes sunny and rainy for days now.
Love that sky. That Hydrangea is quite handsome. I’ll have to look for a place to put one.
