This little beauty is from 2016, purchased when a friend and I attended a hellebore festival at Pine Knot Farms (PKF) in southern Virginia. This is the first time it has flowered. It was not in bloom when I brought it home so I am not quite positive about the name. By process of elimination and studying the photos from that day, it seems to be Helleborus x hybridus ‘Apricot Blush’.
These 3 images are from yesterday afternoon.
These two photos are from this morning. The flower has opened a bit more.
I really like the softer colour from this morning, a super stunning hellebore!
I have long admired the range of hellebores in your garden Pauline, so I am happy to have something different from my pinks and whites. I bought a deep purple one that day too that didn’t make it.
I love the color of this one…I have fallen in love with these flowers over the years and enjoy them for months once they bloom in April here.
It is indeed nice that hellebores last so many months. A great value.
This is a lovely, soft color, and the burgundy throat is a nice contrast.
Hi Eliza, yes I like that burgundy accent also.
That’s a real beauty, I love the color!
Thanks. I agree the color is nice. So different from my other hellebores.
I would go with ‘Apricot Blush’ to.
Oh, good. Thanks for the ID Tony.
Besides being an unusual attractive colour for a hellebore, it holds it head up well.
You’re right Brian. I was so enamored of the color I didn’t consciously think about that. Most of my hellebores are “timid” kind.
Gorgeous Susie, I am definitely going to try to make more effort to grow some.
You’ll probably enjoy them Christina–so long-lasting once they bloom. At the time I bought this one I also bought one of those really dark purple ones, but it didn’t make it. Should try that one again.
Very nice, good colors and contrasts.
I’m glad I trusted the picture on the label and purchased this hellebore.
Great post and photos as always!
Thank you B.R.
Gorgeous, such a pretty colour.
Thanks Liz, the hellebore’s is so different from my others. Now I want to collect more!
Oh it’s lovely, especially in the morning light.
Thanks, it’s exciting to see it doing so well.
That is a little beauty. I love the colour.
Thanks Ali.
Lovely and unusual.
