I like the bold color. I have one that is lighter purple.
The deep color is nice. The plant is not vigorous though so I keep trying it in different spots.
I just saw some gorgeous pink Penstemon today! Am tempted to go back and buy…down 15-501 at that stone place.

Just getting into Penstemons. That one is a winner.
I bought 18 for planting within my labyrinth around 2011. Only one survived so I keep moving bits of it to try to find where it will be happy. This spot seems promising.
Beautiful! I love the height and shape of Penstemons. Although I grew them in my old garden at one time, I haven’t been successful with them in my current garden. Even the foothill penstemons like ‘Margarita BOP’ have quickly died out but maybe it’s time to try them again.
Kris, I’m not familiar with Margarita BOP–will have to check it out. I’ve had luck with Husker’s Red. This Pikes Peak Purple is my favorite but I’ve had to baby it and keep moving pieces around.
Love the slightly white throat against the purple.
This one does have interesting markings and color. I have more luck with Huskers Red, but love the purple.

The color is strong but the plant is not vigorous. I’m trying it in several places to try to make it happy.
Great color! I only grow variations on Penstemon digitalis so the flowers are basically white, maybe with a little pink flush.
This purple one was my first that wasn’t white. The white ones are very showy.
