Hi, For some reason I can’t send a comment except via email ( tells me my email address is invalid….anyway….) Great photos! I’ve not seen this colour before. Also like the title: an entire cosmos’ in a single flower Is certainly worthy of being pondered! Best, Rose Sent from my iPad
Thanks for taking time to comment Rose. I attended a horticultural symposium at this garden a couple of weeks ago and the speakers certainly offered lots to ponder then. Loved the color of this cosmos and just now finding time to post.
This is one I have grown again this year and is very pretty – the foliage is quite different to the other ones I have come across. I hope you are not going to get hit too hard by that nasty storm coming your way… take care!
I should have examined the foliage too but was dazzled by the orange flowers. Thanks for your good wishes. We’re watching the storm carefully. My sister and her husband are evacuating today from the northern South Carolina coast.
I love the orange cosmos. For some reason, I never see it sold here, although the white and pink varieties are common offerings in local garden centers. I’ll have to try growing it from seed one day.
Fantastic colour.

Lovely images Susie; I grow a similar Cosmos but the stems are never very long so I’m not sure I’ll grow it again.
Love cosmos but didn’t get any planted this year. Mine are always tall and floppy, ending up in a wiry, if colorful, mess.
Can’t bring myself to look further at your post today. (Ha! Definitely need a trigger warning!)

It grows easily from seed Kris. (I only offer that tidbit because even I have successfully grown the orange cosmos from seed.)
Sigh … they are so beautiful! I LOVE Cosmos in all colors!
I’m with you Beth! Cosmos are special.
This one is a beauty and a nice change from all the pinky ones.
I agree the color on this cosmos wins me over.
