Cathy at Words and Herbs hosts the Tuesday View, encouraging garden bloggers to post a photo of the same view of the garden week by week and note the changes.
This Tuesday view was taken at 6:46 a.m. A bit of rain nearly every day has kept the fescue grass greener than normal for July. Thyme in middle of the meditation circle is beautiful, in full bloom and full of buzzing pollinators.
Just left of center against the back fence you may be able to detect the yellow flowers of Rudbeckia laciniata (Green-Headed Coneflower), which opened since last week.
Easier to spot in this image, the rudbeckia is quite tall, at least 6 feet, towering above the 4-foot high fence.
Sometimes when checking out the garden it is easy to forget to look up. The sky was was worth a peek this morning.
Thanks to Cathy at Words and Herbs for hosting the Tuesday View. Check out her featured view and those of other gardeners.
It really has been raining, your garden is all amazingly green, just beautiful. The Rudbeckia looks even more than 2 feet taller than the fence from the angle you’ve taken the photograph.
Thanks Christina. I agree the rudbeckia probably is taller than stated by at least a foot. It seems almost minuscule when seen from this distance but when standing in the garden it makes a nice impact and is a pure yellow, slightly golden.
Your garden is looking very lush too Susie. I think plants only need a little to keep them ticking over. The Rudbeckia is a nice focus when lookng beyond the circle. I bet it was nice and peaceful when you took this shot… I am rarely up before 7am, but our sleepy village is usually quiet until later!
Your yard looks so manicured. I’m guessing your neighbors love living near you for the good views. 🙂
One set of neighbors in particular tells me they don’t feel they need to plant any flowers. They just enjoy mine. Of course, I’d love to look across and see flowers too.
Looking trim and neat as a button! Lovely view. What is the bluish evergreen on the back right?
Thanks Eliza. I like that evergreen. It is ‘Carolina Sapphire’ (Arizona Cypress). Wish it would stay that size. The evergreen on the left is also the same thing, many years older.
Thank you.
I love tall plants which surround you in the garden… and I also love the green of your grass!
Send some of that rain our way when you get tired of it 🙂
Happy to share the rain. Last summer it was nowhere to be seen around here and the only color in the garden was scorched brown. I do hope you’ll get some soon.
Beautiful! I can almost imagine myself on the bench. Do you have fireflies at night?
Marian, there are fireflies. They were going crazy on July 4th when nearby neighborhood displayed fireworks!
It hardly looks like a summer photo at all with everything so green! I envy you the rain but then I expect you already know that.
Wouldn’t it be nice if were could share the rains? I’d gladly send some your way. Usually by this point in the summer I’m pouting indoors because everything has dried up and turned crispy brown.
A great idea for a meme/theme. Your garden looks lush and healthy, as always.
Beth, you’re welcome to join in. I’m not sure I see enough changes each week to warrant this exercise. Thought it would make me work harder in the garden but it’s too hot now. I’m definitely a spring gardener.
