Hope you do get some second blooms. This iris had fallen down among some annual in front of the house, so I almost missed this flower entirely. I keep forgetting to plant winter irises–those I think are more amazing.
Yes, definitely a weird autumn. I wonder what winter will bring. Someone (a Facebook friend) even here in S. Wisconsin has an Iris blooming. And another person called into the noon news show and said her blueberries and cherry trees were blooming. The plant expert said they probably won’t have many berries next summer because of the early bloom. Strange. That’s a beautiful yellow Iris, though!
In November? Definitely a surprise.
The iris rebloomed last year in November also, which was much colder.
It is November and I have roses, and azaleas, along with the dahlias blooming in the garden; this has been an unusual year.
Oh, sounds lovely Charlie. Enjoy while you can!
Beautiful Susie, I keep checking mine but no second blooms yet. But my winter flowering Iris has flowers already.

A lovely surprise Susie, a beautiful shade of yellow too.
Thanks Julie. This iris was from a neighborhood plant exchange several years ago.
Wow – I’ve never seen an Iris bloom after the spring season. Amazing. 🙂
Designer irises bred to rebloom…
Aren’t those rebloomers a delight at this time of year? I have several in bloom now and they are what I call “happy makers.”
The rebloomers are amazing John.
Yum! Looks good enough to eat.
I confess they’re a bit startling to see when everything else around them is dying back.

I saw a cherry blooming here also. The iris is actually one bred to realm, not so much a fluke of the weather, but still seems odd in Nov.
Ooh, that’s a gorgeous iris.
I can’t get used to reblooming varieties of spring favorites like irises and azaleas blooming out of season, but I’ll still take them…
That is lovely Susie! A real sunshiny yellow for cloudy days. 🙂
Thanks Cathy. The yellow iris blooming was a treat. Since then the sun has returned and we may get a freeze tonight.
How I wish my reblooming irises would rebloom.
Many of mine did not rebloom either Donna. Not sure why.
