I planted a new peony yesterday in the western border, Paeonia lactiflora ‘Coral Charm’ (Coral Charm Peony).
It had one open flower on it which I removed and brought indoors to enjoy. By today the blossom had opened wide and the color had softened.

what a gorgeous colour – or I should really say colours!
Yes, the peony goes through quite a range of colors as it opens.
That one is beautiful. The color is remarkable.
I agree John, the color is great.
Lovely color. Is it fragrant as well?
Yes, this peony does have a fragrance, but it’s a bit odd, not sweet.
Lovely ! Such an unusual color 🙂
Couldn’t resist bringing it home when I saw that flower.
😉 What a wonderful find! I feel the same way sometimes about wonderfully unusual plants. Best wishes, WG
What a beauty! I hope it thrives for you and produces a few more flowers for you this season!
Thanks Cathy. A few more blooms would be nice but I didn’t notice any more buds. I am enjoying the one flower though.
That one is a gorgeous colour; not one of the thousands at the peony farm is that colour. I’m sure we’ll see more in vases this year or next.
Not sure there will be more flowers this year but my vases are lined up waiting. The peony farm must be lovely to behold, no matter the colors.
What a delightful colour, no wonder you bought it!
You’re right Pauline. I couldn’t resist the color of this peony.
Superb colour as everyone says! Will look forward to seeing more of it!
My friend who was visiting observed the peony petals seem almost translucent. I’ll do my best to get it bloom more but probably not until next year.
Stunning.
Thanks Ann
What a good idea, to bring it indoors and document its beauty…something to look forward to every spring from now on.
I’ve enjoyed having this peony to admire indoors. Figured the plant’s energy should go into forming strong roots.
I have this one! It is charming indeed!
Jason, I agree. Just love the color.
Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous! What an unusual color: love it!
I’m loving it too Libby. Just couldn’t pass up this one up.
