I hesitated to mention the name in the post! It stays green for quite a long time before turning deep red in autumn so we still have some time to enjoy summer.
‘Autumn Joy’ was the first sedum I “discovered” when I began gardening. I wrote about it in my book and noted that it seems to be on everyone’s list as one of the “best perennials.” Inexplicably, in my current garden, I have had significant damage by some unidentified critters; everything I had read about the plant emphasized its immunity to such things. Another note: the past few years I have noted a large number of fireflies feasting on the nectar as it blooms. If ‘Autumn Joy’ draws the fireflies to my garden, I am delighted.
How lovely!
Thank you!
Gorgeous – but it makes me think of fall. 😦

That’s a shame something is messing with your sedum. I’ve read it is deer-proof and have also read deer like it. I like it in this early green stage.
Tough and beautiful! I love this plant. 🙂
I love it too. It provides interest for several months.
The bees and butterflies will be waiting for the flowers to open. Malc
I love sedums because they just make fall more fun for me + the bees:-) They are loaded with butterflies and bees:-) Lovely photos:-)
