Yesterday’s In A Vase On Monday was completed too late to photograph the flowers in natural light. This afternoon I set up the arrangement on the sunny back porch and made a few more images.
I wanted to include them today for my own record because the colors are so much more vibrant and truer to life than I was able to capture indoors last night under artificial light. The rich hues of Salvia guaranitica ‘Black and Blue’ are especially more obvious and in general, the natural light makes it much easier to see all of the flowers in detail.

Salvia guaranitica ‘Black and Blue’ , Yellow Zinnia Giant Flowered and Echinacea ‘Big Sky Sundown’ (Hybrid Coneflower)

Oh the natural light does even bring the colors out even more…that salvia is stunning as a contrast in the vase…glad you did Take Two!!
Thanks Donna, I’m glad too. Just wasn’t satisfied with the first ones.
The more I see it, the more I like that Salvia ‘Black and Blue’. Apparently it can grow to well over 5 feet here.. So I will need to be careful where I put it!
Mine grows more like 3 feet. I do hope you’ll find a spot for some. The color really is sensational. susie
The natural daylight gives it a new lease of life. Very lovely!
Thanks Cathy! I keep wanting a new camera but the right light is always probably more important.
B E A U T I F U L -raised, picked, arranged by one of my favorite gardeners.
Thanks dear friend. So glad you’re going to be in the design guild this year too. Susie
Love it!
Thanks Jayme! The arrangement has really brightened up our house today.
The colors in your arrangement are priceless…absolutely stunning. I hope you will be pleased to know that “my arranger” was blown away.
Thanks John. I am humbled because I do always admire your “arranger’s” designs. They are always serene and elegant. susie
Susie, this arrangement is too pretty for words. It brings me joy!
Well that makes me happy Judy! Can’t wait to hear how your recent projects are doing.
the light makes all the difference which is why I take my arrangements outside to photograph if I can. Yours looks even more stunning in natural light, and yes the Salvia calls to me more and more.
The salvia color is accurate in these photos. The salvia has been dropping lots of petals but despite that it seems to be holding up in the arrangement.
Stunning! The blue Salvia adds that special something to your cheerful bouquet.
Thanks Annette.
Love the variety of flowers you arranged in this vase. Really represented summer!
Thanks, it was exciting to find so many colorful flowers to choose this week.
What a difference! The blue really comes out and all the zinnias shine. It really does make all the colors come out.
Photographing these Monday arrangements has always been a challenge, but natural light really helps.
