Red Hues And Dew

The deep coppery red cone on this dew-tipped Echinacea drew notice this morning. Just beyond, Hylotelephium ‘Herbstfreude’ Autumn Joy (Stonecrop) echoed similar rusty tones.

Thanks very much. Seems like Echinacea is one of those flowers that lends itself to being photographed. There are other things in the garden I haven’t been able to get a good picture of all summer.

That is a pretty one. You have such nice soft colors for this late in fall.
Hey, I was watering my pink geraniums in front of the house yesterday, and saw a new crop of purple violets in the grass!

Great shot. The American Goldfinches have eaten all my Echinacea as soon as they set seeds. None left. It’s very nice to see that you still have it at this time of year.

Thanks. Mid-summer Am. Goldfinches were doing a number on Echinacea here too. I cut a few back then and there have been a few new blooms. Haven’t seen many Am. Goldfinches recently though I believe they are permanent residents in this area.
